In Memory of Gee
Gee made a presence in life with his big, beautiful body and even bigger heart. He was loved and proud to be a significant part of a wonderful family. When one of his humans died, he lost a wag each day he did not return home. Then his other human died and his confusion and emotional pain took its toll on his very being. Gee's head hung, his pace shortened, and he waited so long for them both to return, he finally gave up. He wanted to be wherever they were - and now he is. Do not be sad for Gee but smile through the tears knowing his head is high and his tail wags because he has found his humans.
They Will Not Go Quietly
They will not go quietly, the dogs that shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be,
And sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts belongs to them...and always will.
